Backhaul ring partially 'at risk' - Resolved

Posted in Service Status by Jon on 06/02/2013 @ 14:47

We have received communication from our backhaul provider that one of our KSP - LON legs has a potentially faulty fibre transceiver which whilst currently operational is logging errors.

Our backhaul provider has dispatched an engineer to diagnose the fault which will likely require the suspect leg to be temporarily disabled for diagnosis and repair. Once the suspect leg has been disabled there will be a brief period of packetloss whilst any traffic passing over this leg fails over to the secondary leg.

Additionally, whilst the suspect leg is disabled we will have reduced redundancy as all traffic will be flowing over the one remaining leg.

As always is the case, we update this notification as and when more information is available.

UPDATE @ 16:07 on 06/02/13: Suspected faulty transceiver has been replaced and the errors are no longer being generated.
