RHEL Bash Code Injection Vulnerability

Posted in Industry News by Jon on 24/09/2014 @ 21:27

We have been made aware of a security vulnerability within Bash that apparently affects multiple Linux based operating systems.

Unmanaged customers using a Centos based OS should be able to update to the latest version of Bash (see: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1207723 for version numbers) using "yum update bash -y" via console.

As usually is the case, managed customers need not worry as RackSRV staff have already ensured Bash has been updated/patched on their behalf.

If you are currently an unmanaged RackSRV customer or an external prospective customer looking for a competitive managed server offering, please drop a line to sales@racksrv.com to discuss!
