In the last few moments we have received the following notification from our upstream whom provides primary connectivity to our DR POP (hosting services with IP's in the range 22.214.171.124/24):
"As part of our on-going commitment to provide a quality service to our customers emergency maintenance works are necessary to provide for greater stability and scalability on our Telehouse North infrastructure"
Time: 00:01 – 02:00 UK time (estimated duration of outage up to 20 minutes)
Work: We will be performing emergency maintenance work on one of our edge routers on Wednesday 7th October between 00:01 and 02:00 to further increase resilience. We will begin closing non-transit BGP peering sessions at 23:30 to reduce complexity. Impact: Loss of network resilience affecting our DR POP (where services hosted on the range 126.96.36.199/24 are located)
To summarise, for approximately 20 mins during the aforementioned 2 hour window, we will not have full network resilience at our DR POP as our primary connectivity will be taken off-line for emergency maintenance however, we do not expect to suffer impaired service.
To conclude, no action from clients is necessary, we are merely announcing these works as a courtesy/best practice.
Upon completion of the window we will mark the job as 'Completed'.
