KSP Power 'at risk' - Resolved

Posted in Service Status by Jon on 02/06/2016 @ 16:33

We are aware of a site wide power issues affecting our primary POP in KSP - this loss is currently affecting resilience to both the data centre and our office.

As designed and expected, both locations failed over to UPS & generator without an issue and therefore no disruption to service is expected but, until the utility power supply has been restored, our power resilience has been reduced and thus is 'at risk'

We will update this task as we receive further notification from the Kent Science Park management team.

Update @ 17:14 on 02/06/16 by Jon

As of 16:50 BST mains utility power has been restored sitewide and thus our KSP POP & offices are no longer considered at risk.

The power outage was caused by a gas contractor digging through the 11kv High Voltage Cables that feeds the site from the Sittingbourne West A&B Substations.

UK Power Networks have completed a manual switch to alternative cables whilst repairs are completed.
