KSP Network Instability: All Clear
Posted: Tue Mar 16, 2010 4:25 pm

We are currently experiencing *partial* sporadic instability with our primary POP in KSP.

Our upstream has engineers on the case, further updates will be posted as soon as more information is available.

Update @ 16:40 GMT: Upstream has diagnosed issue (Core switch Mesh not correctly rebuilding after circuit fail-over) and is working on fix at present.

Update @ 16:55 GMT: Upstream are on the phone to HP (hardware vendor) at present who have managed to replicate the fault at their end in a test scenario running the latest official firmware.

Update @ 17:05 GMT: HP are suggesting that a 'quick-fix' may be to roll back the firmware on the Layer3 fibre termination switches which I believe our upstream are arranging now.

Update @ 17:25 GMT: Upstream are going to be rolling out a firmware update on the affected Layer3 termination switches any minute now which will result in a loss of connectivity lasting a few minutes.

Update @ 17:40 GMT: ALL CLEAR - HP has implemented a temporary configuration which seems to have resolved the issue meaning a firmware update can be arranged out of hours.

Blog Post | KSP Power Maintenance: 21/02/10
Posted: Tue Feb 02, 2010 11:20 am

As per the detailed email that has already been sent out to clients, in light of the recent power issues at KSP, the following maintenance window has been created to implement a re-designed power distribution infrastructure;

Date: 21/02/10
Time: 00:15 GMT
Duration: ~4hrs
Affected: 82.136.24.0/24, 193.33.186.0/23, 91.204.208.0/23

We strongly advise clients to cleanly shut down their servers by 00:00 GMT to prevent any loss of data which could occur if the server looses power abruptly.  Engineers will be onsite to power equipment back up once the maintenance has been completed.

Update @ 05:30 GMT: We have just been given the official 'all clear' from SOTA, this window is now complete!
